Ten Shades of Happiness

It’s not at all easy to open up, so please don’t be fooled. I speak as openly as I do because I strongly believe that no one should ever feel that they are alone. Because of this I will write about the darkest of times, however please don’t mistake this as the synopsis of my life.

If I had to describe myself I would genuinely say that I am one of the happiest people I know. Surprise!

Why? It’s easy:

  1. Despite seeing the darkest of times, I bloody love life. It is awesome.
  2. I am loved
  3. I love (a lot)
  4. I see the wonder of life every single day
  5. Cheese
  6. My family rock, ‘n’ roll, through everything
  7. My friends.
  8. I love my job
  9. I follow my passions, everywhere
  10. Cheese (and wine)

I wake up around 6:30 and by 7:30am I am at my desk working. I may sometimes have a shitty day but fundamentally, I love my job. I hope that what I do makes a difference.

I leave work at 4pm and by 5pm I hit the gym, I love it! By the time I’m done I am ready to hop in my PJs and hit the sack. I love my bed.

This is me, Monday to Friday, and I LOVE it. In between I write, this, that, whatever I feel. I find people that amaze me and I contact them, in the hope of an interview. I read. I read about people who have something to say, and about those whose stories never make mainstream news. I watch American dramas that excite me, and transport me from reality, whilst making me believe that I’m thinking about something that really matters in life. I hit the gym some more. I spend time with friends, and wish that the night would never end. I see my boyfriend and wish time would stand still. I spend time alone and feel blessed for the life I lead.

This is my life and I treasure it. My imperfections are the very things that make me and my life worth living. My everyday life may be dull and nondescript but, to me, it is truly amazing. I may be bipolar, I may be eccentric, I may be a lot of things, BUT, if I had to describe myself I would genuinely say that I am one of the happiest people I know.
